WHO? Four piece outfit from the North East of Scotland
GENRE? Indie Rock
FOR FANS OF: Catfish & The Bottlemen, The Snuts, The Libertines

WHY WE ARE DIGGIN THEM: The Zebecks have this fresh infectious sound that fits within the local scene perfectly. Certainly a band we’re keeping close to our radar…
THE MUSIC FILES’ FAVOURITE TRACK: Concrete. A unique blend of guitar riffs, relatable lyrics and colourful melodies, The Zebecks certainly make a name for themselves with their impressive debut track. A bright, catchy melody flows through Concrete, colliding perfectly with the edgy vocals of Daniel Thomson leaving listeners wanting more. If this is the level of quality The Zebecks can produce for their debut single, can you imagine what their future releases are going to be like?! Mark our words, this is a band to watch out for…
GIG HIGHLIGHTS AS TOLD BY THE BAND: The first gig we ever played was at the Elgin Town Hall supporting The Roov. This venue is the biggest in Moray so we were beyond buzzing to get on stage. The reception we got completely surpassed our expectations and really propelled us forward locally. What followed were gigs at the Laichmoray Hotel and The Warehouse, and alongside this we won a Moray-wide talent show. Continuing to write and jam in our converted office cabin, we secured our first festival booking. Then, a battle of the bands, a beer festival and some gigs further afield. Moreover, we were extremely excited for an event with two other bands from Moray who each have established followings, but March 2020 rolled around and well, everyone knows the rest.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS AS TOLD BY THE BAND: We decided not to let lockdown put an end to our ambition and designed some t-shirts with our logo on them. The first batch of these sold out completely and even more went with the second batch. By this point we had saved enough money to book a session at Unity Recording Studio in the Highland region of Scotland. Due to lockdown restrictions, we had to record bass and drums one day and guitar and vocals another day with only a metronome to guide us. Despite this, at the end of it we had produced our first demo EP which is set to release later this year. Our debut single off of it came out in February alongside a music video which was also recorded following restrictions. Nevertheless, we have made the best out of a bad situation and cannot wait to get back to playing our first shows once it’s safe to do so!
