I first discovered Nocturnal Coast back in January 2020 at a gig in Liverpool’s fantastic Phase One. Later that night singer Luke Saleh Saunders told me it was his first show playing the keyboard on stage, it’s great to now see that Luke has incorporated the synth into the bands music and builds his song writing around a synth melody instead of writing on the guitar.
Nocturnal Coast have just released their new single ‘Dance’ which takes a new direction for the band. I loved previous songs from the band like ‘In The Jac’ and ‘Our Kisses Seem So Different’ but ‘Dance’ is outstanding! The band have taken influence from the likes of; Blur, Joy Division, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand and The Vaccines.

‘Dance’ starts with a beautiful guitar melody from David Gavan that repeats throughout the song alongside Alex Cain’s strong drums, shortly after Luke’s vocals kick in where you can hear the Scouse accent throughout. Later on David comes in with an outstanding guitar solo. Overall, this is a stand out track for me! The whole vibe of the track is fantastic. I can only imagine when pubs are back open listening to this in a beer garden on a sunny day.
The singles artwork and video was created by Rosa Kusabbi and it solidities the bands branding! It’s perfect to go along with the single.
I can’t wait to hear what’s next for Nocturnal Coast! Make sure you remember to check out their socials below.
