Single Review: Telephone – The Capollos

Hailing from Aberdeen, The Capollos are a four piece rock made up of twin brothers Kyle and Lloyd McDonald alongside Greg Adams and Brett Thain. The band have supported acts like The Pigeon Detectives, Primal Scream, The Sherlocks and The Snuts. The Capollos brand new single ‘Telephone’ has just been released and it’s a must listen!

‘Telephone’ is a bit different for the band, it is sung by Lloyd. Lloyd wrote the track at the end of 2019 about a relationship that is coming to an end. He wrote it from the view point of the person who wants the relationship to end.

The track opens with outstanding drums and guitar creating the theme for Lloyds vocals kicking in. The lyrics open with “You call me on your telephone, but I want to be left alone” setting the theme of what the song is about. Although this single is slightly different for The Capollos you can still hear their sound shine through. I love this tune! The music builds up and drops with the lyrics of the song.

The Capollos are known for their energetic live shows. They have played across the UK gaining a loyal fanbase. I cannot wait to see ‘Telephone’ played live!
