Single Review: Plastic Glass – ‘Going Away’

Plastic Glass, a four piece indie-rock band hailing from Sunderland realise their latest single ‘Go Away’ on the 6th of November. This heavy hitting indie tune should be on everybody’s list of new songs to listen to with an amazingly catchy energetic melody and thought provoking lyrics what’s not to love about this song?!

Since forming in 2018 Plastic Glass have gained attention by playing the live supporting bands like The Snuts, The K’s and The Pale White as well as playing their own sold out headline shows at venues like Think Tank (Newcastle) and Independent (Sunderland).

Even with everything that has been happening this year, Plastic Glass have been working hard on releasing new music and rescheduling their lives shows that were already cut short at the start of this year. The band also released ‘Let Me Know’ at the start of lockdown which gained recognition from the likes of BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and This Feeling

Talking about the new single, Guitarist and Lyricist Dylan Abbott told us what the thought process and lyrics in the song are about –

“Inspired by leaving home to go to university, lyrically this single covers the topics of boredom and wanting a change of scene. Specifically, tired of being stuck living at home and constantly relying on the same set of people.”

Gigs: Thursday 19th November – Live Stream Gig (On Sale Now). Sunday 13th December – Independent, Sunderland (Running Low). Saturday 12th December – Independent, Sunderland (Sold Out)
