Single Review: Kerri Watt – Let’s Stay Home Tonight

Glaswegian country songstress Kerri Watt has released the second single from her upcoming debut EP Chapter One, which is due to be released on the 2nd of October.

The single is a cover of American rock band NEEDTOBREATHE’s track Let’s Stay Home Tonight from their 2016 album HARDLOVE.

Through her cover, Watt elevates the romance and sentiment of the song to a whole new level through her flawless vocals, which maintain the raw, country style that is so prominent within the original.

The musical accompaniment comprises solely of light acoustic guitar and we also hear subtle harmonies in the background which perfectly compliment the song’s charm and mystery.

Watt’s cover of Let’s Stay Home Tonight acts as a platform for her to showcase her incredible vocal talent. The minimal musical accompaniment featured throughout the song allows her vocals to take centre stage and shows that she is an artist who can present her talent in an exposed and intimate way.  She is definitely an artist that we will be keeping on our radar!

Watt’s video for Let’s Stay Home Tonight is premiering at 18:00 tonight, so tune in then to the link below to have a watch!
