Single Review: Paris Street Rebels | Diane

by Ryan McConnell

Fife’s finest punk-rock export return in ferocious fashion with their latest single ‘Diane’ and by god its a stormer. Wasting no time at all on this 3 and a half minute assault on the senses the track instantly demands your attention and will have you toe-tapping and head-bopping in equal measure. With its fast paced outburst of guitars and raucous vocals the track is met with a killer riff on the follow up to the chorus and maintains a certain level of groove on the bass. It is BIG and is ready made for some disorder on the dancefloor.

“It won’t be long, long until we fall… Under the influence!” feels like a fitting line to highlight as there is no doubt in my mind that the Rebels will have many a music lover falling for this one fully influenced by the new-wave punk scene that has been on the rise in recent years in bonnie wee Scotland.

The lads are making waves in the grassroots scene and this track sounds like a statement of intent going forward and with the likes of Radio X’s John Kennedy and Tenement TV hailing them expect bigger things to come from this exciting young outfit. Grassroots saviours This Feeling also hold the band in high regard and have two Scottish dates lined up with them next year…

25th February 2021 – Dundee – Beat Generator
26th February 2021 – Glasgow – Broadcast
