THE MUSIC FILES FAVOURITE TRACK: The Light. The catchy bass line just instantly reels listeners in alongside the punchy drums. It’s the type of track that would be perfect for a Hollywood movie… once you’ve heard it for the first time, it’s inevitable that you’ll need to go back for more.
WHY ARE WE DIGGIN THEM? Hook’s music is totally unique to anything else going on in the local music scene just now. I was really drawn to them when I read their bio explaining that, ‘their songs are about the small moments, the brutality of love and finding the beautiful in the simple.‘ There’s something just so real about that statement and since listening to their songs it really shows. For them, it’s all about making the type of songs that really matter and you only need to listen to their songs a few seconds in to hear that.

CAREER AND GIG HIGHLIGHTS: ‘Forming in early 2019 and having our first EP out by April 2020. We went from having no songs to a full repertoire within a few months. All through a hard chore of writing, arranging and rehearsals. Add to that the polishing needed to get the right studio versions too. This is something we are proud to have done achieved in such a short space of time.
Our music has been played across the globe. We have radio stations in L.A; Boise, Idaho; Philadelphia; Germany; India; all over the UK and Ireland playing our songs. Truly exciting and wonderful to know that we are reaching so many people. Our live shows have been very enjoyable so far. While mostly local in Dublin (the Underground, Fibbers, the Landmark, the Bleeding Horse, Mother Reilly’s) stretching to Kildare (the Roost, the Duke & Coachman) we have always sought to do the best show we can. We alternate between intimate acoustic and full electric shows so very often we have to re-arrange songs depending on the night or venue.
