Socially Distant Spins with Chloe Burrell

Today we chat to Chloe Burrell, a music reporter for Edinburgh Live and founder of the ‘Lets Chat About Culture’ Blog in which she focuses on discovering the latest bands and musicians through single and album reviews! Have a read below to find out the five albums that she couldn’t isolate without…

Album 1: Lungs by Florence and The Machine

Why the album made the list? I love this album because it’s perfect for when you want to stick something on in the background to study but also it’s ideal if you want to just dance. It makes me feel happy, something which is so needed for a time like this. Plus, Dog Days are Over is such a powerful track that makes you feel like everything is going to be okay.

Favourite Tracks: Cosmic Love, Dog Days are Over and Rabbit Heart.

Album 2: Tango In The Night by Fleetwood Mac

Why did the album make the list? This album is honestly such a feel good album and one I have not stopped listening to recently! You can’t beat a bit of Fleetwood Mac.

Favourite Tracks: Little Lies and Everywhere.

Album 3: Born to Die (Paradise Edition) by Lana Del Rey

Why did the album make the list? This album is the most chilled out EP. I love how relaxed and powerful it is, it genuinely has the power to reduce me to tears, it is beautiful!

Favourite Tracks: Gods and Monsters, Born to Die and Ride.

Album 4: Hurry up, We’re Dreaming by M83

Why did the album make the list? This is actually the album I tend to listen to when I’m feeling quite sad. Cheery I know! But it actually makes me feel much better when I feel I’m struggling a little, could not be without this utterly stunning album.

Favourite Tracks: Wait and Midnight City

Album 5: Everything Else Has Gone Wrong by Bombay Bicycle Club

Why did it make the list? I honestly love this album so much, it’s quite new but I swear I’ve already listened to it 100 times! Bombay Bicycle Club can cheer you up no matter the situation and I just want to dance whenever I hear it. It’s a work of art.

Favourite Tracks: Good Day and I Worry Bout You.
