Album 1: Foo Fighters – One By One

Why? I picked this album as I am a massive fan of the Foo Fighters, a lot of my writing is heavily inspired by them. They just have such an amazing sound and not to mention, Dave Grohl is the nicest and coolest rock star on the planet! I love their guitar sounds and varying dynamics throughout this album and you can tell how well produced it is.
Favourite track: gotta be ‘All My Life’
Album 2: Frank Carter And The Rattlesnakes – Modern Ruin

Why? I chose this as i have recently started listening to more of the bands music, before I was furloughed, I was in the van one day and had them on shuffle and I just loved it! Such edgy vocals and exciting punk tracks that just make you want to pick up a guitar and write the best punk song you can!
Favourite track: ‘God Is My Friend’
Album 3: The Amazons – Future Dust

Why? The Amazons are another one of my favourites, Future Dust was an amazing album release with some great guitar tones and creating a heavy type indie sound. I seen them perform at Glasgow Barrowlands in November 2019 and what a gig it was!
Favourite track: ‘Fuzzy Tree’
Album 4: Arctic Monkeys – Favourite Worst Nightmare

Why? I always stand by it, this was the best album from Arctic Monkeys, some might say “Whatever People Say I Am, Thats What I’m Not” was their best but I would say “Favourite Worst Nightmare” was better. This is when The Arctic Monkeys were in their prime, with tracks such as “Teddy Picker” and “Brianstorm” what’s not to love?
Favourite Track: ‘D is For Dangerous’
Album 5: Noel Gallagher High Flying Birds – Debut Solo Album

Why? Noel Gallagher’s first solo album since splitting from Oasis really grabbed me. A fantastic opening track “Everybody’s On The Run” with a choir and string orchestra in the background leaving you in awe. The whole album consists of gripping, soulful and meaningful lyrics with the most romantic single on there “If I Had A Gun” – I had the opportunity to meet Noel in 2016 when he was playing a sold out Aberdeen show, he was a nice guy, he signed one of my Albums and even shook my hand
Favourite Track: ‘Everybody’s On The Run’
