Less than a week to go until 23 Promotions host yet another fantastic night of Scottish musical talent from the likes of The Notions, The Lightning Trip, The Rain Experiment & Modern Soul! Taking place on Friday 13th March from 7pm- 10pm at the fabulous Room 2 – this is a night not to be missed!
Have a read below about the acts who will be taking to the stage for it below…
The Notions
The Notions are a four-piece indie-rock band from Kilmarnock and although they’re pretty new to the music scene, they’re already off to a promising start. Their latest single, ‘Tell Me’ which was released in December proves the band have the talent to really make a name for themselves in the Scottish music scene. This will be my first time seeing The Notions live but if they sound anything like they do on Spotify then we’re definitely in for a treat! It’s clear from listening to them that they have a huge influence from 1970s/80s alternative rock with a hint of modern day indie… a band you’ve certainly not heard before. If this is the talent they can produce at 17-19 years of age, can you imagine what’s to come for these guys?! See it for yourself on the 13th March…
The Lightning Trip
Now I seen these guys perform an acoustic set at the last 23 Promotions event and they truly blew my mind. Within seconds of hearing the band, I was instantly a fan. The Lightning Trip are Glasgow’s very own modern day Rock n Roll band and boy do they deliver! They have the ability to leave each member of the audience in total awe. Lead singer, Gavin Scott has this incredible voice that blends perfectly with The Lightning Trip’s rock n roll vibe. As much as I adored their performance the last time I seen them, I’m really excited to see what they have to offer with a full band set and from playing previously in King Tuts, Audio and The Record Factory, it’s no secret that these guys know how to put on a solid show!
Modern Soul
Soul music is one of my all time favourite genres and I feel there isn’t enough of it in Glasgow so when I first listened to Modern Soul, it was a truly wonderful discovery. Their latest single, ‘Shame The Devil’ captures the true ultimate feel-good soulful vibes that takes you to your happy place which is really what soul music is all about! They’re the type of band that really make you get lost in the music when listening to them via headphones so can you imagine how good they will be live? With a six-piece full band on stage, I can’t wait to see what Modern Soul have to offer….
The Rain Experiment
I briefly seen the indie four-piece at a 23 Promotions acoustic night a few months ago and since then I’ve had them on repeat. As much as the acoustic night highlighted their talents as musicians, it will be great to see songs like, ‘Be My Angel’ with a full band. The band just released their latest single, ‘Path of Your Own’ which has already went down a treat with fans. The track is a little different to anything like I’ve heard from the band before which highlights the variety of music, they can produce! There’s no doubt it will be the ultimate crowd-pleaser if they perform it on the night. The Rain Experiment just seem to be getting bigger and bigger within the local music scene and I just can’t wait to see what they have in store for us at Room 2…
